Can Therapy "Cure" Homosexuality?

In a word: No.

But being gay, bisexual or transgendered doesn't need a fix, a cure, a balm, a salve or a do-over.

That is not to say that therapy cannot be an extremely useful tool to someone questioning their orientation or is about to come out and might be feeling the magnitude of that decision.

Obviously our community is not immune to every other potential mental illness or addiction and treatment should be sought without reservation. There are as many opinions on therapy and medication as there are pink triangles on Fire Island and just like coming out is about personal truth, getting help when you need it is about as honest as one can be.

If you are seeking a therapist it is a good idea to get one that is gay or transgender friendly.
