We Hate Gays: Anita Bryant's Florida Legacy Lives On
Some of you may be too young to remember Anita Bryant and her hate crusade of the 70's. She was a one woman anti gay equality sideshow who quite literally believed homosexuals to be a menace to children and claimed we actively recruited kids for pleasure and politics.
Fast forward to a new millennium and not much has changed in the Sunshine state. Now it seems a home association is telling its property owners that unmarried couples or to be more specific, same sex partners are simply not welcome additions.
Rybolt Reserve subdivision in Orlando has made it abundantly clear in their listed set of rules that homeowners may only rent to married couples. Do the math.
The HOA restrictions are legal as Orlando only protects same sex couples who are buying property - renters beware - bigotry abounds in the land of Mickey.
