Gays Twice as Likely to Smoke
The West Virginia Division of Tobacco Prevention has allocated $100,000 in grants to be doled out to a variety of cessation programs in the gay community.
Statistics show that gays are twice as likely to smoke as their heterosexual counterparts.
Half of all gay men smoke and lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths among lesbians.
Right now tobacco products are a much larger threat to the health and well being of our community than HIV. Read that last sentence again and put down the smokes people.
I had a horrible time quitting and failed frequently. You just have to keep trying because you never know which attempt will finally be the one that sticks.
