A Queer Who Agrees with Me on Civil Unions: Sir Elton
I seem to stir the pot a bit when I express my opinion concerning gay marriage vs civil unions. I've stated numerous times here that I think it was a mistake to go after gay marriage when civil unions solves the legal protection under the law issue without dragging religion into the fray.
Of course my inbox is constantly filled with "and you call yourself a queer" emails, but finally some prominent gay has spoken up:

Yes, it's a conservative columnist who jumped all over the quotes, but the quotes are reasonable.
Take religion out of it and we'll get tax breaks, adoption and custody rights and hospital visitations for all gays.
Again, why is that so awful?
